Why Hypnotherapy for CFS?

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) is a disorder where extreme tiredness persists and won’t go away with sleep or rest. Unfortunately conventional medicine doesn’t really understand CFS or how to effectively treat it. To them the cause of chronic fatigue syndrome is unknown, although there are many theories — ranging from viral infections to psychological stress. Some experts believe chronic fatigue syndrome might be triggered by a combination of factors.

Potential Causes:

People who have chronic fatigue syndrome appear to be hypersensitive to even normal amounts of exercise and activity.

. Potential triggers include:

  • Viral infections. Because some people develop chronic fatigue syndrome after having a viral infection, researchers question whether some viruses might trigger the disorder. Suspicious viruses include Epstein-Barr virus, human herpes virus 6 and mouse leukemia viruses. No conclusive link has yet been found.
  • Immune system problems. The immune systems of people who have chronic fatigue syndrome appear to be impaired slightly, but it’s unclear if this impairment is enough to actually cause the disorder
  • Hormonal imbalances. People who have chronic fatigue syndrome also sometimes experience abnormal blood levels of hormones produced in the hypothalamus, pituitary glands or adrenal glands. But the significance of these abnormalities is still unknown.
  • Past Emotional/Psychological Issues. The past echos into present and emotions or memories that aren’t processed to completion can have an affect on us

In my experience everybody who has seen me for CFS has persistently ‘overdone’ it in someway in the past, usually by one or more of the following:

  • Pushing past physical barriers and not listening to the body
  • Trying to do too much
  • Moving 100mph in a 70mph lane
  • Post-viral echos
  • Past mental health issues that were ignored
  • Putting others first to own detriment
  • Ignoring the body when it gives you a nudge to change/slow down
  • Driven people than have driven themselves into the ground

You brain is remarkable at slowing you down if it thinks you need it. The problem is it may be slowing you down from something that happened a long time ago and it just needs reassurances that you have taken notice, once this happens then the program can update.

Emotions, when stuck in the system, can also have a ‘bearing down’ effect that leads to fatigue. This can be released with hypnosis so the system can feel light and energized again!

What our clients say

Testimonials

For years I’ve suffered with excess sweating when in any situation where the focus is on me or I’m nervous, like giving a presentation or being around new people. This was really affecting my job as my job involved a lot of presentations and meeting new people! My mum has had hypnosis before so I thought I would give it a try. I don’t know how Paul did it but after one session I felt more confident and was able to lead a normal life without excess sweating, he even stuck my hand to my leg which I thought was brilliant!

I’ve suffered total hair loss through alopecia, I’ve had no more than three hairs on my body at one point since it began three years ago . . .
Paul had hair growing back on my head and face within 2 days of our first session… Three sessions and four weeks later. I’ve got at least a hundred fine white hairs on my head and around 30 scattered elsewhere. It seems to be growing again . .
I also feel STRONGER and BETTER . . . I can never thank Paul enough

Hi Paul, I hope you’re keeping well. I just wanted to get in touch to let you know that following on from the successes during your alopecia hypnotherapy trial, my hair continued to grow and has now fully recovered. For the first time in 11 years I have my curls back and I look like me again! My wigs are back in their box and I honestly can’t thank you enough for setting me on the path to getting all of this fixed. All the best.
