What is trauma? A sense of situational inescapabil

What is trauma? A sense of situational inescapability and overwhelm. If not processed at the time then the body remembers and re-enacts the event when triggered. A trauma that’s not processed can lead to devastating emotional, relational and physical effects. If you find yourself over/under-reacting to an event and you’re not sure why then there’s a chance your body is remembering something that you’ve consciously forgotten. In our implicit memory we have experiences without time, so our bodies could reenact an experience from 30 years ago as if it was now. That’s what I mean when I say trauma isn’t spoken, it’s re-enacted. During trauma, and the reliving of it, our time-keeping and speech areas of the brain quiet down and we’re ‘back in the moment’ unable to use conscious logic to process as blood flow to the conscious area is reduced and redirected to emotional areas. We’re living in a hyper-sensitive time where emotions are leading the thoughts and not the intellect. Actions are being carried out by beliefs and ideologies that think they’re above the law. The important thing to remember is the message behind it all and not get caught up in the media rhetoric. The media is there to influence, not educate you, choose your knowledge from educational sources. The same can be said for social media. The amount of memes going around to highlight a cause but are using factually and historically incorrect information is alarming, it only hurts the cause, not helps it. Listening to the media is like reading the first pages of a chapter of a book then creating your own conclusion without vital pieces of information.Be careful that we’re not creating more division in the name of equality.A very good friendship of mine has recently been damaged because of the above, the narrative currently being played out had a huge influence on it, and it saddens me.So keep your head, don’t be influenced- be educated. Look at data, stats, read all the pages of the book and you may just see the whole story and then make your thoughts based on that, not the influence of media and social media. Beliefs aren’t facts, they’re as real as you believe they are. They can set you free to achieve your goals or they can imprison you and keep you from happiness. They aren’t real, but they create reality. They’re invisible barriers or the rocket up your @ss!
You can change them with a thought and repeated action of that thought then, hey presto, you have a new belief!
