Suffering from whiplash is no joke, despite what others may think. After being in an accident, you may experience whiplash for years to come given the extent and severity of the accident. Even minor traffic fender benders can produce enough force to cause a number of things like temporary loss of consciousness and damage to things like blood vessels, nerves and internal organs, not to mention cause brain bruising and so much more, turning your normal life upside down with pain that won’t seem to go away.
For those that are familiar with whiplash, it consists of rapid acceleration that’s followed by rapid deceleration. When in acceleration, your body is pushed upward and then is immediately pushed in the opposite direction, tensioning your entire body. Research has been done on some fender benders that have produced a number of consequences on the body, including, tears, strains and spasm in your heart, brain, kidneys, blood vessels, nerves and other body parts, with high speed crashes literally causing your brain to explode. Whiplash is a really a soft tissue strain that should heal itself in three weeks, but can persist longer or become a recurring experience.
Whiplash becomes even worse when the person has preexisting restrictions from any earlier stress, trauma or emotional issues, making them even more vulnerable to the accident and it’s symptoms. What many ask after being in a accident is why whiplash lasts so long when other scratches, bruises and ailments heal. Once reason is because you’re still experiencing some underlying trauma or stress from the accident, which is in turn not allowing your sprained neck to heal properly, amd this is even truer if you were already suffering from stress before the accident.
But the majority of people who experience whiplash that won’t go away believe that there must be some sort of injury there, even after months of being pain free after the accident. What they don’t know is that their stress from the accident is not allowing it to fully heal. The good news is that there is a way to fully heal from whiplash, but you’ll have to deal with the underlying cause of the pain. You’ll have to dig deep and find the root of the pain, whether it’s stressors or trauma from the accident or something that occurred before it. And the true cause of the pain can be hard to pinpoint, especially if it’s emotionally based. These trapped emotions or energy can be causing the ongoing pain, so you’ll have to release it by releasing the emotions.
To fully heal, you’ll have to retrieve those emotions from your subconscious mind by learning a few simple methods like mindfulness. Often times, major painful events are the easiest to remember and designate as the cause of pain, but others aren’t so simple. Trapped emotions can linger on for years, but when they are released, the pain will dissolve.
So if you’re dealing with whiplash that doesn’t seem to want to go away, even months after the accident, it’s time to take a good look at whatever emotional baggage you may have. Clearing trapped emotions will provide you with peace of mind, body and soul!
